The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 is not supported by installed nouveau kernel module (see feature matrix for nuoveau kernel module at : the RTX3060 is codenamed NV170 by Nvidia). There are good chances that the AMD Radeon Vega is correctly supported by the installed amdgpu kernel module. It seems you are running a computer with two graphic cards (hybrid architecture with a integrated " AMD Radeon Vega" GPU and a discrete " NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060" GPU). What is the desktop environment you have installed (gnome ? kde, ? xfce ? other ?) What is the media and ISO image from which you have installed Debian 12 ? I have tried a variety of keystrokes (but I really don't know what I am doing) to no avail. When I enter my password and hit enter a black screen comes up. However, when I install it (I have done it different ways with and without proprietary drivers), reboot, and get to the log-in screen with no problem. Can anyone help me?Ĭode: Select all lspci -k | grep -EA3 'VGA|3D|Display' Kernel driver in use: when I install it (I have done it different ways with and without proprietary drivers), reboot, and get to the log-in screen with no problem. Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Cezanne Series / Radeon Vega Mobile Series] (rev c8) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company GA106 Ġd:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. I have been successful running from a live USB drive with this lspci -k | grep -EA3 'VGA|3D|Display'Ġ1:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA106 I am trying to install it on an HP desktop: Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060/PCIe/SSE2. I have had problems with my KDE Neon installs on my laptop and desktop. I was running a tri-boot: KDE Neon, Nobara (Fedora type & strange to me, but it works), and Windows 11. I am now retired and several weeks ago I decided to get back to Linux. In 2018 or 2019 something happened to my Linux install (I don't remember what), life was happening so I went back to Windows 10. Over the years I used Mint Gnome briefly when KDE had black screen problems. I began with Linux in 2004 with Mepis (KDE & Debian based), but I am a user, not a techy. I really want to use SilverBlue :) I spend an hour a day nuking mint, restoring sb and doing whatever i thought of last night (like rebasing it to rawhide), it doesnt boot, and i restore the mint May be a timing issue with trying to talk to my hdmi monitor before it switches on. Then it boots (which is what its trying to do when it doesnt boot) Only solution i have now is to choose bios boot options and pick fedora (which is the only bootable option i have) Rebasing to rawhide today does not fix the fact that i struggle to get silverblue and fedora to boot Im pretty sure its related to my specific hardware. Ive also tried rebasing my fedora silverblue to 37 (which must be beta) and that does not fix the issue. Just to keep you up to date with what im posting on bugzilla:
